What you will need

Colored pencil

Markers

Watercolor paint or watercolor paints or pencils

Paintbrush

You need an open mind to try this.

You don’t need to believe you are not creative.

You do not have to be artistic or poetical.

Paint or draw a picture or a doodle of your mood right now.

What are you feeling? What is your mood? Choose the colors you are drawn to over your poem.

Now, write a simple 2- to 3-line poem.

I like haikus. They are usually about nature, but that does not matter here. Write the first line 5 syllables, the second 7, and the last five.  Write about your painting and what you are feeling.
